This morning I decided to take the family out for a picnic. The temperature was supposed to get up to 100F and I didn't want to be here when it did. So we went to Fools Hollow Lake in Show Low, Arizona. It is a two hour drive from where we live, but the kids did pretty well for being in the truck for the four hour round trip.
The lake was pretty cool . I took a bunch of pictures. There were thunder cells going by the lake about a mile or so away so we got to see the lightning show but did not get rained on until we got back in the truck and drove to the other side to look at the campground. The camping area was really nice but unfortunately none of the camping spots would accommodate our large tent. We could try and get two campsites and use two smaller tents.
Right now I am fighting hard to stay wake. I should be getting to bed because I have to be up early to get my oldest daughter off to her first day of 8th grade. She doesn't seem to be too excited about school yet but that may be just a teen thing.
