Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.

Yesterday, we took my four year old daughter to Walmart to pick out something to buy with her birthday money from her grandma. She said that she wanted a Barbie, so we took her to the area with Barbies. Well, she wanted one of everything. When she picked one and we were ready to proced to the checkout, she would see something else and that became the one she wanted. Then we went down another aisle on our way to purchase her prize and she found something else. She put down what she had for her new find. Then she went back to the original section and started looking again.

In the mean time, my wife and I were getting frustrated because we were ready to leave. It went on like this for some time...back and forth between the different dolls and then she decided on a set from High School Musical that had a boy and a girl doll. And just when we thought we would get out of the store, she put the package down and started looking at some others. Finally my wife gave her an ultimatum. Get something now or we she wasn't going to get anything. Well she picked a wedding Barbie and we tried to herd her and my one and a half year old toward the checkout as fast as we could. And of course during our journey, she said she didn't want it.

Well, we bought it anyway and she decided that she liked it in the end. I guess that a woman's propensity to change her mind over and over again without warning or reason starts at a young age and actually might be in the DNA.
