The Great Blog Push

I am trying really hard at keeping up with my blogs and maybe starting a new one. Some may say, "A new one? No one reads or comments on the ones you have now." This is true for the most part. Partly because I haven't posted good content lately, partly because I haven't been keeping up with them and partly because I haven't promoted them with any real effort.

When I first started my blogs, there was no Twitter, Facebook or Google+ so I was not including them in my routine along with posting. But since we have moved, I have a need to start making money. I could get a job outside the home, but I have been a stay-at-home dad for four years. And two years before that. I really don't want to give my position up. But because the current state of affairs in our country, we can no longer go with only my wife's income.

I have seen many successful at-home-parents produce great revenue generating blogs. So, why not me. I have a lot to say, according to me anyway, and think that people would enjoy reading what I have to say. I just have to figure out the proper ways in which to attract and hold as many readers as possible and then get advertisers to be willing to take a chance on me.

Besides, blogging is probably the cheapest start-up that I can think of at the moment. Computer: check. Internet connection: check. Time: check. Motivation: Check. Ideas: Check. Currently, no monetary investment will be required. My next step is to figure out where I want to put my new ideas. I have several blogs on WordPress.com and Blogger and have posted on Google+. Since those outlets are basically free, I think I will start there.  Probably cross posting at first until I have enough content that it won't be necessary.

My kids need things like new clothes and food and my wife needs a break from working so many hours. My next task will be to research revenue generation for bloggers. I do have Blogger post ads my blogs but I am certain that there are other more lucrative alternatives.

For now though, my goal will be to start posting daily content to all my blogs and see if I can sustain the pace. The one with the most interest from readers will get my full attention as to how to monetizing it. If it works, then I will proceed with the others.
