What's the Deal?

Yesterday was a really nice day out, so I decided to take the kids to the park. When we arrived, there were no other kids. That was fine by me. It would be easier for me to keep track of my kids.

Everything was going according to plan. The kids were roaming around the play area, climbing on the toys and rocks. After a while, they wanted to walk over to the volleyball courts and get a drink of water. While there, what appeared to be a mom and a grandmother arrived with two little kids.

"Great!", I thought. "And so it begins."

After a few more minutes of playing in the sand, they decided to go back to the play area. As we made our way back, another mom walked into the play area with one child. My kids started playing with her. They are funny like that. A short time later, two more groups of parents and kids arrived.

Soon, the play area was full of kids running around, screaming and yelling and having fun. Unfortunately for me, it made it difficult to keep track of my four kids.

Some may call me crazy, but I like to keep an eagle eye on my kids when we are at the park. I have to see them at all times. There are too many crazies and scumbags in this world.

Anyway, my kids were having fun running around with the other kids and I was having a hard time watching them. But, luckily for me, lunch time arrived, signaling that it was time to head home. As expected, the kids did not want to leave so I bribed them with a soda. I can just hear everyone cringing at that. I rarely let them have a can of soda. Maybe twice a week or so (a topic for another post).

It seems that every time that we go out somewhere, be it a park, or a restaurant, or any number of possible locations, if we get there and it is empty or are few people, soon after we arrive, the place gets packed. And it doesn't matter what time of day. I know it sounds crazy, but it is true. This always happens. What's the deal? I don't know, but it gets annoying at times.

Think what you will, but facts are facts.
