The other day, when I dropped my daughter off at school, there was a group of girls going into the restroom. I don't usually see groups of kids going to the restroom so I thought it was odd. I continued to walk my daughter to her classroom to drop off her backpack before heading to the cafeteria for breakfast. She qualifies for free breakfast. With the rise in gas and food prices and no rise in income, I have her eat at school.
Anyway, on the way back out to the car, I passed the the group of girls now standing near the entrance of said restroom in a circle gossiping. I couldn't believe it. I know older girls and women gossip all the time, but I guess it took me by surprise to see girls in Kindergarten engaging in that activity.
Yesterday, when I picked up my daughter from school, I had her go to the restroom before we headed home. While she was in there, several other little girls went in. Then I heard my daughter and the other girls chatting it up, though I couldn't hear specific words. After they were done, the walked out and said bye to each other and went on with their business. Maybe it is in the female DNA sequence.
I guess it is different with guys. I don't usually hear or engage in any conversations in or near the bathroom, nor would I ever want to participate in any. I find it unsettling when guys try to start up conversation while I am trying to go to the bathroom.
