The end of the year is just a few weeks away, which means that the end of semester for my son in Connections Academy virtual school. I must admit that I haven't been performing my duties as learning coach to the best of my abilities. Now, my son is pretty far behind and I don't know if I can get him caught up. I really do not blame my son for the situation.
This year, the other kids attend a school that is out of our district so I have to drive them every day. I go back and forth to the regular school three times a day. It has been difficult for me to schedule his lessons around this. And when his younger brother gets home, it is almost impossible to get him to to a lesson without getting distracted.
Over the Christmas break, I am going to re-arrange his school area and put up the wipe off board back up. It seemed to help last year when I had both boys home for school. He really wants to go back to regular school, but I don't think he is quite ready. Hopefully I can get him ready for it this next semester.
I know this was not a very informative or exciting post.
I really need some advice from other virtual school parents because the way I am
doing things, I know, is not the most productive or best for him.
