Well, tomorrow starts the writing event of the year, NaNoWriMo. This year will be the third time that I will have started this event, but hopefully, the first time that I finish.
For thirty grueling days, we write like crazy people in order to complete a 50,000 word novel. There are many reasons why we enter this competition. But one thing is for certain, it is not easy to make it to the finish line. Some cross the finish line at fill speed with their arms raised in victory, and others come crawling, inch by inch with their arm outstretched in hopes of touching that line before midnight on November 30th.
For me, I have yet to even see the finish line or even the half way point. The past two years that I have participated in this event, I shot out of the starting blocks like an Olympic sprinter...and like a sprinter, I collapsed a short distance later, out of breath and out of energy. I am hoping this year, I can pace myself better and at least make it across the finish line, crawling with an outstretched arm or running at full speed with my arms up in victory.

Unfortunately this year, I have opted out of NaNoWrimo. There are too many things that need my attention at this time that I could not spend enough time writing to even get close. So, hopefully next year my things won't be so busy around here.
