I only got one thing done that I wanted to today so far. I cut the grass in the front and the back. I must be getting old because bending over with the weed eater really bothered my back. Yes, I am getting old. Hopefully I can hold out until my boys get big enough to cut the grass.

The other day, I ordered an adapter so that I could use the cable I have for the Tandy WP-2 so that I can connect the NEC PC-8201A to the computer and download my files and maybe upload some. I know that I am silly for tinkering with this old technology when I have a perfectly good net book and an Alphasmart Dana to do my writing on. But I just like the coolness factor.

Speaking of writing, I really need to get to the library for some quite writing time. It is really hard for me to write anything creatively here with all the kids around all the time and all the distractions. But if I am going to be a writer, I need to learn how to deal with distractions.

N graduates eighth grade next Friday. The school calls it 'promotion' instead. Not a real surprise there. Next year she will be in high school. I can't believe it. Now, I will have a while new set of worries to deal with. I know it has been a while since I was in high school, but I can still remember possible problems she could face. I tried to talk her into going the home school route like Z and J but she would have none of it. She likes hanging out with her friends too much, which is not a bad thing.

And speaking of home school, J will be returning to regular school next school year. He was always talking about his last teacher and kids at school. He wants to go back so we registered him at another school. Z will be going to kindergarten at the same school. She is excited. Unfortunately we don't live in the district so I will have to take them and pick them up every day. I will have to make three trips a day since they start at the same time but get out at different times. Hopefully the truck will be up to the task.
