Today has seemed like a long day. I woke up early this morning. I don't know why but I did. Anyway, The kids pretty much got up all at the same time, which is not so unusual.
Before lunch we went to Walmart to get the boys some shoes. They have needed new ones for some time, but every time we decide to get them shoes, they throw a fit or get in trouble for something so we don't go. Today we went early hoping that we would get to the store and out before they started causing problems.
We did find them some shoes, luckily, because there were virtually no shoes for boys on the shelves. Not that they had a run on shoes, but that for some reason they are not stocking any. It was like that at Walmart in Phoenix when my wife and were down there and looked for boy shoes. Nothing. And we had to pay $20. That seems kind of high for young boy shoes that are not name brand or didn't have
Disney characters on them. Just plane generic kid's shoes.
After getting shoes, the kids were still in relatively good modes so we took them to Arby's for lunch. They did pretty well and then we dropped the younger two girls off at their aunt's and took the rest of the gang to see "Night at the Museum 2" The kids liked it, my wife liked it, but I thought it was ok. Not as good as the first one.
For dinner, I grilled small steaks that we covered with a dry rub that I got from the Food Network website. I used before for pork and liked the taste. The meat turned out really good especially on the grill. The kids don't usually eat meat on the grill so we gave them hot dogs...I know, bad parents.
This evening, we watched the season premier of "Jon & Kate plus 8." I am sure a lot of people were tuned in to see what they had to say about what has been in all the tabloids lately. The show has now become about Jon & Kate and not about the children. My wife and I agree that the show will not be on the air much longer. Things are going to get worse between them and the show will no longer be viable.
Well, it is getting late. I should be getting to bed now.
