Lately it has been very hard to get time to this blog. It is not like I have a lot of things going on, but the kids seem to be demanding more and more of my time. I don't mind spending time with them, just doesn't leave much time for other things.
With that said, I will try and get this entry completed before they wake up.
With my oldest daughter starting her 4th grade year, my two sons who are 3 and 4 are taking an interest in that fact that she is going to school. They want to go just like their big sister. I am hoping that Z the 4yr old will be ready next year. He is smart, but he is a big whiner and his (and his younger brother) verbal skills are lacking to the point of not being able to understand him a lot of times. I thought his speech would get better, but it hasn't really. J, the 3yr old is the same way.
I guess it is something I am doing wrong for the both of them to have that problem. My Mom wants me to take them to a speech person to have them evaluated and get some help. I guess I am like most parents and don't want to admit their child may have a problem, especially one that requires them to go to a specialist. I am surprised at some of the words that they can say and wonder why they can't say others. Maybe it is because I have been the stay at home parent and am affecting their learning somehow. I don't know, but we just may end up taking them somewhere.
In another twist, I may have to give up my status as a stay-at-home parent again. My wife (and me to a not so lesser extent) really wants to move to another state. Not anyone in particular, but just not one as hot as Arizona. We could move to the northern part of the state, but I don't think she would be able to make as much money up there. So, in order to accomplish a move to another state, I will have to re-enter the job market; something I really don't want to do. Unless we win the lottery, I see no other way around it.
I have found some not so expensive homes in other states, but the act of moving to another state will require a large amount of money up front. And I don't think she will be willing to spend another summer in this heat. Even though I have lived in this heat all my life, I am pretty much in agreement with her about needing and wanting to move to less furnace temperatures.
Off to the job search websites I guess.
