Growing Up Fast

My 9mo. old daughter is growing up too fast. She has gotten two teeth on the bottom and can crawl with amazing speed but she prefers to to stand and use objects like the couch, chairs and anything she can pull herself up with. She really likes to walk along the couch while holding on. Several times we have seen her let go and balance herself for a few seconds. It is really awesome to watch her go through these stages. Before long she will be walking. I can't wait! While my wife thinks it will be more work trying to chase after her because she will be getting into more things, I thing it is great. It means that she is smart and is developing at a good rate.

I don't think that her older brothers and sister will like it very much when she is walking around following them and pestering them. Already she loves to crawl into the boys room and play with their stuff.

My youngest son was running around at just over 9mo. old. But he fall a lot and got bruises on his head. When we took him in to see the doctor for a regular check up, the nurse practioner said that he was walking too early and we should discourage him from doing so. I couldn't believe she would say something that stupid. Discourage him? What, were we supposed to spank him every time he walked? Have him sit in a corner? Needless to say, we never saw her again.
