The Snake

Yesterday, while taking the boys and the baby to the store across the street, I saw a snake making its way into our mobile home complex. It wasn't a rattlestnake, but beyond that I had no idea what kind and if it was poisonous so I just assumed it was.

My oldest boy wanted to play with it so I had to keep him back. My youngest son was in the stroller so he couldn't get at it, but he sure was straining against being buckled in.

We stood there watching to see where it would go and it seemed to be heading toward the side where my house is located so somehow I got it to stop and sit there for a while while I called the office for them to come and get it.

I was glad that I was the one to see it and not one of the many kids that play in the area because I know they would have messed with it. Also I didn't want it making its way toward my house.

On our way back from the store, my boys were looking for the snake again. It was kind of cute seeing how they were reacting to it, but scared at the thought they could have found it when I wasn't watching. That doesn't mean there aren't any more snakes around...great! Now I am worried again.
