The Park

Yesterday we took the kids (mine and my sister in law's) to the nearby park. It is amazing what effect the word "park" has on a child that understands its meaning.

When the word is spoken to my kids, they are overcome by some kind of frenzy. They run around looking for their shoes, for a toy to take, then asking if they can take it, getting my shoes and bringing them to me as to speed up their journey to the park. No matter how fast we get ready, it isn't fast enough.

Is this a sign that they don't get out enough or just a kid thing? Or it could even be a bit of both.

In any case, we made it to the park and from the time they set foot on the ground they were running and didn't stop till we strapped them back into the van. They seemed to have a really good time. As usual, I took pictures and had a hard time keeping track of five frenzied kids. I just wish there was a park within walking distance from our house.

There is a empty lot almost across the streed from our house. Maybe I should find out who owns it and see what the plans are for it. It could make a nice park.

Anyway, that will probably be our only excitement for the week.
