My almost 3yr old son is the first experience in potty training. I read several articles on the subject that had clues to watch for when a child would be ready for training. I didn't know I needed to buy a few boxes of patience for myself.
The first one was not going over night. Check. The next one was the child alerting you when they went in the diaper. Check. Next was the child taking off diaper. Check.
So, we decided to start potty training. Pullups. Check. My son started going in the toilet when we would take him and we praised him for it. This went on for some time, then he started reverting back. Then my wife said we should just put him in underwear and after a few accidents, he would get the idea to go in the potty.
Well, it has been a few weeks, and still no change, just a lot of washing. We have a daughter due in October, but due to complications, probably in September and I don't want to be changing 3 kids. I know he will come around in his own time, but I wish I could help him along sooner.
My 2yr old will run to the bathroom saying that he has to go. When I get him on on the toilet or in front of it, nothing. I guess I should be happy that he at least understands the concepts.
I guess that I am just whining about something that comes with being a parent. I wonder if the Hollywood types have to change diapers.
