I wish that my kids would say that to me sometimes. Brownies are one of my biggest vices. The sweet chocolate goodness is impossible for me to resist. That and Dr. Pepper...which is a whole different story. My weight is proof of that.
Ever since I can remember, I have loved brownies...who doesn't for that matter. But for a stay-at-home dad that doesn't get much exercise, it is not a good thing. I admit, I have gained some weight since getting married, but most of it has come since I have been at home with the kids.
It is not fair to my wife or kids to let myself get in this bad shape. As we all know, weight gain and inactivity contribute to heart disease, something stay-at-home dads are more likely to get than those dads that go to work.
I believe it is the job of every dad to be healthy so that they can be there for their family. That is why I have started to do the Wii Fit. I borrowed it from my sister-in-law to see if it was something that I would be able to do, and it is. Now the challenge is to keep with it, and to figure out how to scrape together some money to buy one for myself.
I really wish I could control my brownie urge, but I can't . That is why I wish my kids would tell me to 'step away from the brownies!' (not that I would listen to them though).
