It is coming to the end of the first week of summer vacation and the kids are bored out of their mind. The problem stems from several things. First, they kids are lazy. They don't like to put forth much effort if don't want to. Second, is that because of our vehicle situation, we can't get out of this small town. There are tons of things I would like to take them to see and do, but our cars are about to fall apart and we don't want to break down on the side of the road in the middle of no where. Last but not least, they fight with each other about everything. Not all the time, mind you, but a lot. So, there is not a lot of incentive for them to interact with each other because they know it will lead to fighting.

I was looking forward to this summer all year. I love to camp and that was at the forefront of my mind. We have the equipment, and a little money, but not the transportation. It is a big bummer because we did not go camping last year. So, it looks like we won't be able to go this year either. There are so many places that I want to take the kids, but there is nothing I can do about it. It is turning out to be my biggest frustration.

We had a yard sale last weekend. I was hoping to sell a lot of stuff, but we barely made any money. I guess no one wanted our junk. There were a number of people stopping and looking, but no buyers unfortunately. We really could have used the money. All the items that we did not sell were taken to a local charity thrift store. Hopefully they will get some money out of the stuff.
