Well, I have got Z already started with lessons. I did not realize it, but according to his online schedule, today was an 'in service' day and there were no lessons scheduled. Thank goodness. It will give him an extra day to get caught up.
Z has gotten behind, partly because of me, but mostly because of him having no desire or drive to do his school work. He takes over an hour to do lessons that should only take about 30-40 minutes. And that is not because he is having trouble with the material, he just hates doing any work.
I don't know how to overcome this problem. Last year, I gave out chips for completed lessons and Z and J could use those chips to get game time or movie time. It worked for a while, but towards the end of the school year, it lost its motivational power. I am thinking about trying it again with Z this year. I tried several other things, but nothing seems to work.
These are the trials and tribulations of a regular guy who bacame his children's Dad.
