Since the kids aren't up yet, I thought I would take this opportunity to get a few thoughts down before the craziness started and there wouldn't be any time.

Yesterday, we got a few things accomplished. We dropped the van off to get the radiator fixed. They "shop" we took it to was a residence and the mechanic was an older guy. He worked from his house, but apparently he has been doing this for quite some time. They repairman that fixed the door on our garage highly recommended him. So, the life of our van is in his hands. Hopefully we will hear some good news from him this morning.

Also, I bought a few things at Walmart and Radio Shack to fix up the back room. I purchased a power strip so that I could finish hooking up my "office". I finally have a place dedicated to the upcoming NaNoWriMo event on November 1st and where I can work on my blogging.

Next, I got a splitter to split the incoming signal in to the cable modem so that we could also hook up the TV so the kids could watch their shows and M and I could watch ours in the living room. It worked great.

Finally, I got an extender to lengthen the cable in our bedroom so that it would reach our TV on the dresser, so now we can watch in our bedroom. Not that we will watch it a lot, but just that the option is available.

I wanted to take the kids to the park while we were out and about, but they started acting up. They have a limit to how long we can be out before they start getting fussy. I don't know why, but they do. Hopefully the van will be done soon, then maybe we could take the kids to the park today.

M volunteered to work a shift today. It was her day off, but we need the extra money....we always need the extra money. I really need to get something going on this blog thing. M doesn't complain about her aches and pains, but last night she told me that her hands really hurt from arthritis so, I don't know how much longer she will be able to work. I really wish I could find a job, or some source of income so she wouldn't have to work. But in today's economy, that is pretty much an impossibility. Besides, what skills or abilities do I have that I could exploit for monetary gain?......Pretty much nothing. What a great parent I am.
