Today is the day that N graduates from 8th grade. I was thinking about why they school only calls it a 'promotion' and have come to this conclusion. First of all, for their attire, they are supposed to stick to the school dress code. No dressy closes, dresses, gowns, or shirts and ties for the boys. And they are having it in the middle of a Friday before a holiday weekend. Then they treat it like a small, insignificant event. For some reason that I haven't figured out yet, they are downplaying the graduation and making not as important as it should be. I guess they don't want people to attend.
My mom and E are coming up for it though. We are going to treat it like a significant event as it should be. I would like to have a party for her this weekend, but M and her mom and sister are going down to Phoenix for the weekend while I stay with all the kids.
It was my suggestion. M has been working a lot lately not to mention the two double shifts yesterday and today and there has been a lot of stress at their work so I figured they needed some girl time. Hopefully they are in better moods when they get back.
Now, what fun things to do with seven kids that doesn't involve video games?
