Parent Should Charged

Yesterday, while listening to my police scanner, I heard a call go out about a truck that was stolen with two children inside. The way this happened is that the Mom thought she could leave the truck running with her kids in side and go in to the store really quick for a few items and then leave. Well, the part about being quick worked out, but the dirtbag was quicker and took the truck.

They issued an amber alert for the whole area and about 1.5 hours later someone spotted the truck in a parking lot. Luckily the kids where in it, but it was really hot and no one knew how it was sitting there in the heat.

Everytying turned out ok. But I think that the Mother should be charged with child endangerment or something. It just really makes me angry when people do that. It has too many times here where someone thought they would be in and out really quick and the kids would be fine. It is very irresponsible and people should face charges.

Sure, this time the kids were ok, but it could have just as easily went the other way and something could have happened to the children. I think it is child neglect.

A parent is supposed to protect their children, not put them in harms way, for whatever reason.

There was also a call on the police scanner about a 2yr old drowning in a bath tub. WHAT IS WITH THESE PEOPLE! I never leave my children alone in the tub. I am always there with them. If the phone rings, let them call back. If the door rings, they can wait.

There is nothing more important that the health and safety of your children. When parents disreguard this and something happens to their children, it makes me very angry at the parents and they should be punnished for being so stupid.

I better step down from my soap box now before I get myself into trouble.
